China Merchants Jinling shipyard has delivered the seventh LNG-powered vessel ordered by Sweden’s Gothia Tanker Alliance. Swedish shipowner Furetank, a member of the alliance, will commercially manage the 17,999 dwt ice-class 1A vessel named Fure Vinga. A management contract was signed during 2011 with Svensk Kärnbränslehantering, SKB (Swedish Nuclear Waste Handling) and after this Furetank assumed the ship Sigyn at the end of that year. During 2012 a lot of effort was made in shipyards in Rumania to complete Sigrid (an upgraded replacement vessel for Sigyn). Eagle LNG Partners, a pioneer in small-scale LNG and an LNG bunker supplier, is the first company to deliver LNG bunker fuel to a foreign-flagged vessel.
